Matt Digby is an accomplished, energetic journalist with a passion for sharing stories from the world of sports. One of his first roles in sports media was serving as the stadium announcer for several of his high school’s sports teams.

Most recently, Matt was the Sports Director at WOAY-TV in Southern West Virginia, coordinating coverage of local and regional sports in the area. Among other events, he regularly covered West Virginia University and Marshall University athletics, Virginia Tech football, and the PGA Tour’s A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier (formerly known as the Greenbrier Classic). Prior to arriving in West Virginia, he was a commentator and producer with Tourbeau Sports Group, covering national championships at the college and youth levels.

Matt is a graduate of Ohio University, and got his start in radio and television at the campus station, WOUB. His most memorable moment at the station was covering the Ohio Bobcats’ run to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship in 2012. Later that year, Matt interned at WSYX/WTTE in Columbus, Ohio, and assisted with the production of a weekly pre- and post-game show on Ohio State football. His first play-by-play job came as one of the radio voices of Ohio Bobcats baseball on WOUB-AM.

While a student at Ohio, Matt was one of the inaugural winners of the Scripps Innovation Challenge, a contest designed to solve real-world issues in today’s media industry. His group developed an app for two West Virginia newspapers to get young people (18-34 age group) to consume news.

Matt is currently based in Columbus, Ohio. He is a member of the National Sports Media Association and Sportscasters Talent Agency of America.
